La capitale du Haut-Doubs (Pontarlier) possède deux atouts hors catégorie: les distilleries d'absinthe et un musée de l'automobile couvrant 8000 m². Jusqu'à la prohibition en 1915, Pontarlier était la capitale de l'absinthe, une liqueur amère contenant près de 75 % d'alcool. Le Musée Sbarro doit son nom à Franco Sbarro, un concepteur et constructeur de voitures italien qui réalisa dans ses Ateliers de Construction Automobile (ACA), dans la localité suisse de Grandson, proche du lac de Neuchatel, des reconstructions de voitures et des prototypes extravagants de sa propre invention.
