Huez est une commune française située dans le département de l'Isère en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.Ce village de haute montagne, accroché sur les pentes orientale du massif des Grandes Rousses, héberge deux anciens sites miniers, le site archéologique de Brandes et la mine de l'Herpie qui fut la plus haute mine de charbon d'Europe.
