Mauléon est une commune du centre-ouest de la France située dans le département des Deux-Sèvres en région Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Elle a obtenu le label Village étape en 2016.
Mauléon est située sur la RN 249 , à vingt minutes par la route de Cholet et de Bressuire, à l'extrême nord-ouest du département des Deux-Sèvres. Elle est limitrophe de la région Pays de la Loire .
