Située au centre de la presqu'île de Crozon, c'est un chef-lieu de canton de l'arrondissement de Châteaulin.Très étendue , la commune occupe la plus grande partie de la presqu'île et comprend 155 villages et hameaux. Parmi eux, la station balnéaire de Morgat , au sud, offre un centre nautique et Le Fret , au nord, un petit port donnant sur la rade de Brest.
