Il castello di Saalhof è uno dei castelli più antichi della regione del Pinzgau. Risale all' XI secolo, quando apparentemente era la dimora dei Conti della regione. Durante il restauro della facciata nel 2010, sono stati rivelati i parti più antiche del castello sul lato nord-est. Nel 1600, il castello di Saalhof è stato ampliato.
