Thorpark è un'area di 10 km² dietro l'ex miniera di Waterschei. L'area ha così tante qualità che si collegherà al Parco Nazionale. Qui puoi trovare tutto ciò che le Hoge Kempen hanno da offrire: montagne di minerale circondate da brughiere e foreste di pini, una bella valle fluviale, ginepri e dune di sabbia. Alcuni edifici notevoli arricchiscono il paesaggio: la colonia per bambini di As e la miniera di carbone di Waterschei (Thor Central). Puoi già fare lunghe passeggiate, ma non c'è (ancora) un cancello di accesso nella conosciuta ricetta degli altri cancelli.
