Idstein è una città della Germania nel circondario di Rheingau-Taunus in Assia, situata nel Taunus, a nord di Wiesbaden.
Il monumento più noto della città è la Hexenturm , risalente al XIV secolo.
Il centro storico di Idstein è delimitato da due ruscelli: il Wolfsbach ad est ed il Wörsbach a ovest. Lungo il Wolfsbach sono ancora oggi riconoscibili i resti dell'omonimo insediamento, oggi disabitato.
