Püttlingen è un comune nello stato tedesco della Saarland e fa parte del Consorzio Regionale di Saarbrücken.
Püttlingen conta 18.318 abitanti.
Nel quattordicesimo secolo Püttlingen era in possesso dei signori di Forbach. Nel 1464 Filippo di Sirck lo ricevette in feudo dal principato vescovile di Metz. La sovranità feudale passò nel 1648 dal principato vescovile di Metz al ducato di Lotaringia. I duchi nel 1681 concessero il feudo ai signori di Kriechingen. Nel 1766 la signoria feudale di Lotaringia passò ai principi di Nassau-Saarbrücken, che nel 1778 acquistarono anche la proprietà del luogo. Lo stemma comunale mostra due campi dei conti di Kriechingen e uno dei conti di Nassau.
