Il lago di Großstolpen è un corpo idrico tranquillo situato nel territorio della città sassone di Groitzsch, nel distretto di Lipsia.
Il buco di estrazione dell'acqua allagato si trova a sud-est di Großstolpen, una frazione di Groitzsch. La B 176 Bad Langensalza–Hartha passa poco a nord. A est si trova la miniera di Vereinigung Schleenhain. All'angolo nord-ovest del lago si trova l'area naturale Lago paesaggistico di Großstolpen. Nella parte nord-ovest del lago di circa 31 ettari, con una profondità fino a 5 metri, si trova un'isola per gli uccelli.
