Questa breve tappa del percorso Altmark ci porta dalla città più antica dell'Altmark, la città anseatica di Stendal, alla più giovane, la città di Tangerhütte, che ha preso il nome solo nel XX secolo grazie alla fusione del ferro.
Si passa dalle impressionanti costruzioni in mattoni della città anseatica di Stendal attraverso il paesaggio sereno dell'Altmark e le zone pianeggianti di Uchte ed Elbe fino a Tangerhütte, una città industriale, la cui storia nella fusione del ferro è ancora tangibile oggi. Il parco faunistico di Weißewarte (attualmente purtroppo chiuso) è una meravigliosa tappa intermedia, prima di essere impressionati dal Nuovo Castello e dal suo parco paesaggistico a Tangerhütte.
La tappa ci conduce lungo il ben segnalato percorso Altmark attraverso Demker verso Weißewarte. Da Weißewarte mancano solo pochi chilometri fino all'ingresso della città di Tangerhütte. Raccomandiamo di lasciare il percorso Altmark a Tangerhütte verso sud per il Nuovo Castello e il parco.
Il percorso Altmark è ben segnalato e percorribile senza pericoli.
