Suances è un comune spagnolo di 7.998 abitanti situato nella comunità autonoma della Cantabria, comarca di Besaya.
Il territorio comunale si trova nella costa Occidentale della Cantabria fra Santillana del Mar e la ria di San Martin de la Arena formata dai fiumi Saja e Besaya . Dalla costa il territorio si espande a sud dell'ampia baia di Caprera limitata dalle punte di Bellota e del Dichoso, quest'ultima è una piccola penisola con ampio belvedere sulla quale s'innalzano un faro e i resti di una fortificazione difensiva.
