Puoi raggiungere il Pas de Soulombrie attraverso la valle che inizia nel paesino di Bompas, situato lungo il fiume L'Ariège, circa 10 km a nord-ovest del passo di montagna. Lì sei ancora a una quota appena sotto i 500 m. La salita nella valle inizia lentamente. Solo dopo il paesino di Arnave inizia la ripida salita fino al Pas de Soulombrie che si trova a 911 m. Le montagne circostanti al passo raggiungono un'altezza di oltre 2000 m. La strada verso il passo è chiamata Route des Corniches.
