Thiviers è un comune francese di 3.335 abitanti situato nel dipartimento della Dordogna nella regione della Nuova Aquitania.
Le prime tracce di documenti ufficiali relativi alla città risalgono all'XI secolo. Città franca, Thiviers aveva il diritto di coniare la propria moneta dall'inizio della monarchia francese. Inoltre, nell'XII secolo, era una delle 32 città murate del Périgord.
