Laon è un comune francese di 27.093 abitanti capoluogo del dipartimento dell'Aisne della regione dell'Alta Francia.La città antica, costruita su un colle isolato in una regione fertile, sorgeva probabilmente nel luogo dell'antico oppidum celta di Bibrax, conosciuto in seguito alla seconda campagna di Gaio Giulio Cesare del 57 a.C. . Era abitato dal popolo dei Remi.
