St. Austell non ha ancora un municipio, tuttavia, nel dicembre 2008 è stato annunciato che le verrà assegnato nell'ambito dello spostamento di circoscrizioni e distretti sotto il Consiglio della Cornovaglia. Altri tre municipi verranno creati nella stessa area: St Austell Bay, Carlyon e Pentewan Valley.
