Rossano , impropriamente chiamata anche Rossano Calabro per distinguerla da Rossano Veneto, è una frazione di 36 623 abitanti, attualmente parte del comune di Corigliano-Rossano, in provincia di Cosenza, in Calabria. La città è detta anche La Bizantina e Città del Codex, in omaggio al Codice Purpureo, uno degli evangeliari più antichi al mondo, custodito presso il Museo diocesano e del Codex e inserito nella lista dei beni del patrimonio UNESCO nella categoria "Memoria del mondo".
