Pegognaga è un comune italiano di 6 861 abitanti della provincia di Mantova in Lombardia. Il centro abitato è attraversato in zona nord dal 45º parallelo, la linea equidistante fra il Polo nord e l'Equatore.
Pegognaga è stata gravemente colpita dal terremoto che nel 2012 ha devastato l'Emilia-Romagna.
Trovandosi tra gli 8 e i 14 chilometri dall'epicentro, situato tra Cavezzo e Mirandola, è stato uno dei paesi più colpiti dal sisma.
