Cividale del Friuli è un comune italiano di 10 966 abitanti in Friuli-Venezia Giulia: fondato in epoca romana da Giulio Cesare con il nome di Forum Iulii, da cui poi ha preso il nome tutta la regione, divenne il capoluogo del ducato longobardo del Friuli, della Marca friulana e capitale temporale del Patriarcato di Aquileia.
