Lierop è situato in campagna ai margini della brughiera di Lieropse e Strabrechtse ed è circondato da un'area verde con foreste di conifere. Il villaggio si trova in una bellezza naturale ed in passato era una signoria.
Attraverso il paesaggio protetto di Boomen si entra nel vecchio leydorp. Davanti a voi si erge una grande cupola con alcuni terrazzi ai piedi.
