Il mulino a vento De Hoop a Maassluis è un mulino a torre che fu costruito nel 1690, come risulta da un atto. Considerando la forma e il materiale del mulino in pietra, questa data è ulteriormente confermata. Un precedente mulino in legno fu eretto in questo luogo nel 1620.
È un mulino tondo in pietra, la cui copertura è ricoperta di cartone catramato. Le pale hanno un'apertura di 26,30 metri e presentano la forma tipica olandese. Il valore paesaggistico di questo mulino è molto grande.
