L'ottava tappa del percorso di circa 750 km che va da Albacete, nella Spagna orientale, a Lisbona (Portogallo).
La prima parte della tappa è paesaggisticamente bella con una strada tranquilla attraverso un paesaggio collinare. Soprattutto intorno a Vila Viçosa ci sono da affrontare delle salite e la strada sale di oltre 200 metri in 8 km.
Dopo Redondo, il percorso percorre per oltre 30 km la N254, una strada piuttosto trafficata. Questa parte della tappa è meno attraente.
