Troia o Ilio , è sia un antico sito storico dell'Asia Minore, posto all'entrata dell'Ellesponto , nell'odierna Turchia, attualmente chiamata Truva e popolata da un centinaio di abitanti, sia una città mitica dei testi classici greci.
Wilusa, termine presente in più parti negli archivi reali Ittiti, secondo una ricerca condotta da Frank Starke nel 1996, ormai universalmente accettata dal mondo accademico, da J. David Hawkins nel 1998 e da WD Niemeier nel 1999 era il nome, nella lingua luvia/ittita propria degli abitanti dell'area, della città poi passata alla storia come Troia.
