Het donderblad (Sempervivum tectorum), ook huislook genoemd vond je vroeger op alle lagere gebouwtjes van de boerderijen alhier. Volgens het volksgeloof biedt het bescherming tegen de bliksem en de blaadjes zouden tevens een remedie zijn tegen keelpijn. In Duitsland wordt dit plantje op sommige plaatsen Donatuswurz genoemd, verwijzende naar de donderheilige Donatus wiens verering in 1652 in Duitsland ontstond en die te Poesele sinds 1860 wordt vereerd in de parochiekerk.
