Om deze heugelijke episode uit de geschiedenis van Vollezele blijvend in herinnering te brengen, werd op zaterdag 12 augustus 2000 na een academische zitting met tentoonstelling het standbeeld van Brillant onthuld. Ron Deblaere uit Lichtervelde is de kunstenaar die Brillant in brons heeft vereeuwigd. Het is een geschenk aan Vollezele van de firma Beaulieu uit Wielsbeke. Op zondag 13 augustus 2000 trok een historische stoet met het beroemde Belgisch trekpaard in de hoofdrol door de straten. Op woensdag 20 september 2000 werd tijdens een korte plechtigheid een gedenkplaat aangebracht aan de vier belangrijkste stoeterijen.
