Deze watermolen werd reeds in 1550 opgericht als volmolen voor de plaatselijke wolnijverheid. Enkele decennia later werd hij omgevormd tot graanmolen. Tot rond 1990 werkte de molen, waarvan de technische installatie vrij volledig is gebleven, nog dagelijks, maar toen drong restauratie zich op.
