Kraainem is een plaats en faciliteitengemeente in de Belgische provincie Vlaams-Brabant. Kraainem grenst aan het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest en is daardoor als deel van de Brusselse agglomeratie sterk verstedelijkt en verfranst. De gemeente telt ruim 13.000 inwoners en is gelegen aan het riviertje de Woluwe. De inwoners van Kraainem zijn Kraainemmaars en hun dialect is het Kraainems. De plaats wordt door Franstaligen vaak aangeduid als Crainhem, hoewel de officiële spelling in het Frans eveneens Kraainem is.
