Esneux is een plaats en gemeente aan de Ourthe in de provincie Luik, België. De gemeente telt ruim 12.000 inwoners. De Ourthe stroomt door de gemeente.
Tot de opheffing van het hertogdom Limburg hoorde Esneux tot de Limburgse hoogbank Sprimont. Net als de rest van het hertogdom werd Esneux bij de annexatie van de Zuidelijke Nederlanden door de Franse Republiek in 1795 opgenomen in het toen gevormde Ourthedepartement.
