De 19de-eeuwse molen, momenteel ingericht als woning, is mooi gelegen op een hoge zandrug. De Oude Kalevallei rond de molen is beschermd. Doorheen het landschap meandert de Kale, een oude rivier die vroeger stroomde vanuit de omgeving van Tielt tot aan de Schelde in Tielrode.
