Het kasteel Kransberg is een kasteel in de wijk Kransberg van de stad Usingen, in de hessische Hochtaunuskreis, ongeveer 30 kilometer ten noorden van Frankfurt am Main en ongeveer 50 kilometer ten noordoosten van Wiesbaden.
In de omgeving bestond er al lange tijd een zogenaamd veldgerecht, dat in documenten al in de 7e eeuw werd genoemd. Het bevond zich slechts ongeveer 500 m in een rechte lijn van de locatie van het huidige kasteel, op een heuvel waar nog steeds een kapel staat. In de 11e eeuw werd er een eenvoudige verdedigingsconstructie in het gebied van het huidige kasteel gebouwd, waarschijnlijk op dezelfde strategisch gunstige locatie.
