Place des Vosges is het oudste plein van Parijs. Het plein ligt in Le Marais, een wijk in het 3e en 4e arrondissement. Het is ontworpen door Baptiste Androuet du Cerceau en was een van de eerste moderne grote pleinen in de West-Europese stedenbouw.
Het plein, dat vroeger bekend was als Place Royale, werd tussen 1605 en 1612 onder Hendrik IV gebouwd. Het werd voltooid onder Lodewijk XIII en er werd een standbeeld van deze koning geplaatst. Het plein van 140 bij 140 meter wordt omringd door 39 gelijk uitziende huizen, ieder gebouwd van rode stenen met gaanderijen, twee verdiepingen en schilddaken. Veel van deze huizen hebben een eigen bijzondere geschiedenis. Aan de noordelijke en zuidelijke wand staan het grotere Pavillon du Roi en het Pavillon de la Reine.
