Poitiers heeft een oude kern met het plein Charles-de-Gaulle als middenpunt. Aan dit plein staat ook de kerk Notre-Dame la Grande. Deze kerk stamt origineel nog uit de 12de eeuw en is een goed voorbeeld van de Romaanse bouwstijl. Naast deze kerk staan in Poitiers nog een aantal religieuze bouwwerken, waaronder l?+glise Ste-Radegronde en de CathÚdrale Saint-Piere.
Poitiers heeft twee parken, Jardin d?Ombre en Jardin de LumiÞre. Poitiers is van oudsher een universiteits stad wat ook de naamgever is van de historische Rue de l?UniversitÚ. Deze straat heeft een aantal oude gebouwen waarvan sommige nog tot de 14de eeuw teruggaan. De grootste attractie bij Poitiers is Futuroscoop, ÚÚn van de topattracties van Frankrijk. Dit park is gericht op de toekomst.
