Het voormalige Augustijnenklooster werd in 1427 gesticht door Louis de Bourbon, Comte de Vendôme, bij zijn terugkeer uit zijn gevangenschap in Londen. Het ging geleidelijk aan over in een ruïne in de 18e eeuw en de functie als klooster werd stopgezet ten tijde van de Franse revolutie, de gebouwen werden verkocht als nationale eigendom.
De overige elementen zijn recentelijk hersteld.
