Eilean Donan is een klein eiland in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, gelegen in Schotland, beheerd door de Council Area of Highland. Het is verbonden met het eiland Groot-Brittannië door een stenen brug die leidt naar een versterkt kasteel dat een groot deel van het eiland beslaat. Dit gebouw, dat vanaf het begin van de 13e eeuw vele malen is gebouwd en verbouwd, werd in 1719 tot een ruïne achtergelaten na een veldslag die het zwaar beschadigde. Gekocht door de MacRae-clan, werd het tussen 1912 en 1932 herbouwd met behoud van de bouwstijl. Sindsdien heeft het vele bezoekers verwelkomd die het beschouwen als het meest romantische kasteel van Schotland. Het is ook een van de meest gefotografeerde kastelen in Schotland en het heeft ook gediend als decor voor veel films.
