Zij was een Italiaans kind dat op 6 december 1920 aan een longontsteking is overleden. Rosalia's vader, Mario Lombardo, was zeer verdrietig over haar dood> Daarom benaderde hij Alfredo Salafia, een bekende embalmer, en vroeg om haar te balsemen.
