Het voormalige raadhuis van de gemeente Nieuwer-Amstel aan de Amsteldijk, aan de rand van De Pijp, in het stadsdeel Amsterdam-Zuid huisvestte van 1914 tot 2007 het Amsterdamse Gemeentearchief, dat kan worden gerekend tot het grootste archief in zijn soort.
Tot de annexatie van een groot deel van haar grondgebied door Amsterdam in 1896 strekte de gemeente Nieuwer-Amstel zich uit tot de Ceintuurbaan en de Van Baerlestraat in wat nu Amsterdam-Zuid is. In de raadszitting van 29 oktober 1886 werd besloten een nieuw raadhuis te bouwen, dat de gemeente tussen 1889 en 1892 aan de uiterste buitengrens van haar grondgebied liet bouwen, dit om het verzet tegen door de gemeente Amsterdam gewenste gebiedsuitbreiding te benadrukken.
