De Puttense moordzaak is bekend komen te staan als de verkrachting van en moord op de 23-jarige stewardess Christel Ambrosius op 9 januari 1994 in het huis van haar grootmoeder in de Gelderse plaats Putten.De twee Puttense zwagers Wilco Viets en Herman du Bois werden voor dit misdrijf in 1995 tot een gevangenisstraf van 10 jaar veroordeeld. Ze kwamen in 2002 vrij nadat ze twee derde van hun straf hadden uitgezeten. In een herzieningsprocedure in hoger beroep werden ze in 2002 vrijgesproken. In 2008 werd een nieuwe verdachte, Ronald P., opgepakt. Hij werd in hoger beroep veroordeeld tot 18 jaar celstraf.
