Door de jaren heen zijn in West-Friesland zo’n honderd boerderijen uit de Bronstijd opgegraven. Om hier een beeld van te geven, werd eind jaren 80 in het Streekbos een replica van een woonstalboerderij gebouwd. Door vernielingen en een brand werd de boerderij verplaatst naar het Zuiderzeemuseum in Enkhuizen. Ondanks dat de replica hier niet meer staat, geven stapstenen en boomstammen je een inkijk in hoe de prehistorische bewoners vroeger leefden. De replica bestaat uit authentieke materialen zoals hout, klei, stro en riet en heeft een woongedeelte en een stal voor het vee.
