Saldes és un municipi del nord de la comarca del Berguedà, situat al peu del Pedraforca, a la banda est de la muntanya, enmig de les Serres del Cadí i d'Ensija.
Limita, al nord amb l'enclavament dels Cortils de Bagà i amb el terme de Gisclareny; a l'est amb Gisclareny i Vallcebre; al Sud amb Fígols Vell i Gósol; a l'oest amb Gósol i per la banda Nord Oest amb Josa de Cadí i Tuixent .
