Ortígia és una illa que forma part de Siracusa, a la qual està unida per un pont. Fou la seu original de la ciutat, però ja en època grega Siracusa comptava amb altres barris en terra ferma. Dionis el vell la convertí en la seva fortalesa i palau, per prevenir sublevacions en contra seva, però les fortificacions foren destruïdes el 343 aC per Timoleó de Siracusa per impedir una nova tirania local. Durant l'edat mitjana el despoblament feu que la ciutat quedés reduïda a Ortígia. Avui és el barri vell de Siracusa i també la seva principal destinació turística.
