Ehrwald er en kommune med 2620 indbyggere i distriktet Reutte i Tyrol. Kommunen ligger i retten Reutte. Ehrwald ligger ved foden af Wettersteingebirge med den 2962 m høje Zugspitze, ved bassin af Lermooser Moos, et tidligere sumpområde. Loisach flyder forbi byen. Navnet stammer muligvis fra det oldhøjtyske eriro eller erro wald, hvilket betyder "Begyndelsen af Skoven". Ifølge en anden opfattelse betyder navnet "gammel skov" eller "Erzwald", hvilket ikke kan udelukkes på grund af de nærliggende mineralforekomster.
