Lufthavnen Innsbruck ligger cirka 3,5 kilometer fra byens centrum i bydelen Höttinger Au i vest for Innsbruck. Målt efter passagerantal er det den tredjestørste lufthavn i Østrig efter Wien og Salzburg. Den tirolske delstatsregering besluttede i 1920 at opføre en luftfartsstation i Innsbruck. Den 1. juni 1925 blev den første lufthavn i øst for byen, i Reichenau, officielt indviet, og ruten München–Innsbruck–München blev taget i brug af Süddeutsche Aero Lloyd. Der kom flere linjeforbindelser til, som indførelsen af ruten Wien–Salzburg–Innsbruck gennem ØLAG.
