Ernst er en vinby ved Mosel. Byen hører til den rheinland-pfälziske Landkreis Cochem-Zell og tilhører kommunen Cochem. På den modsatte side af Mosel ligger Valwig.
Kommunen Ernst nævnes første gang i 777/778. Dokumentet blev underskrevet af Hilduin som i det 10. regeringsår af kejser Karl.
