Pontyclun er en landsby og kommune beliggende i amtet Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. Ligesom de omkringliggende byer har det set en skarp stigning i befolkningen i de sidste ti år, da folk migrerer sydfra fra dalene i det sydlige Wales og vestfra fra hovedstaden Cardiff.
Pontyclun oversættes fra walisisk som 'bro [over] floden Clun', hvor Clun er en biflod til floden Ely, der løber gennem Pontyclun. En bro krydser Afon Clun lige over dens sammenløb med Ely.
