Pekela ; Gronings: Pekel; indbyggere pr. 31. januar 2022: 12.186, kilde: CBS) er en kommune i Nord-Nederland, i provinsen Groningen. Den 1. januar 2020 var indbyggertallet 12.199, et lille fald på 15 personer i forhold til året før. Kommunen dækker et areal på 50,22 km². Pekela er opstået ved sammenlægningen af Oude Pekela og Nieuwe Pekela pr. 1. januar 1990. Den 1. december 2010 er Pekela blevet administrativt fusioneret med Veendam. Denne fusion blev afsluttet pr. 1. januar 2021. Den administrative organisation var den fælles ordning De Kompanjie.
