Indført fisk blev her solgt til fiskekøbmænd og fiskekøbmændinde. De sad på bænkene i fiskepladsen og købte fisken for at sælge den i byen og på landet. Fiskeslagteren sørgede i fiskeslagterhuset for afskæringen af fisken.
