Schloss Wagrain liegt am Nordrand von Ebbs, etwa sechs Kilometer nordöstlich von Kufstein in Tirol .
Das Schloss wurde 1421 als Sitz Herren von Ebbs erstmals erwähnt, es wird jedoch vermutet, dass es bereits im 14. Jh. als dreigeschossiger Wohnturm errichtet wurde. Die Herren von Ebbs standen als Richter im Dienste der bayerischen Herzöge, stellten von 1429 bis 1438 mit Johann Ebser den Bischof von Chiemsee und starben 1494 mit Ludwig Ebser aus.
