Wie in anderen Limburgischen Bergbaukommunen wurden auch in Beringen Gartenviertel und andere Einrichtungen für die Bergarbeiter und ihre Familien angelegt. Inzwischen ist die Mijncité als Dorfansicht geschützt. In der näheren Umgebung des Kioskplatzes lebten vor allem Bergbaubeamte; die Arbeiter wohnten etwas weiter entfernt.
