Die Bosbeek entspringt an der Grenze von As zu Genk. Sie bildet über eine Strecke von 2,5 km die Grenze zwischen As und Opglabbeek, einem Stadtteil von Oudsbergen. Anschließend fließt die Bosbeek durch Opoeteren und Neeroeteren, um in Aldeneik (bei Maaseik) in die Maas zu münden. Die Bosbeek hat einen großen Höhenunterschied, was sie besonders geeignet für Wassermühlen machte.
