Das Schloss wurde 1727 von Guillaume Delagrange im Auftrag von Victor de Gingins, einem Nachfahren der Barone von La Sarraz, erbaut und blieb bis zum Tod von Antoine Charles de Gingins im Jahr 1823 im Besitz der Familie. Es war der Schauplatz einer der heftigsten Episoden des Bourla-Papey-Aufstands im Jahr 1802: Es wurde von Frauen belagert, die es stürmten und einen Teil des Archivs niederbrannten.
Nachdem das Gebäude mehrere Hände durchlaufen hatte, wurde es 1889 vom kantonalen Institut für Unheilbare und gebrechliche Greise gekauft, das es in ein Altersheim umwandelte, auch dank des Vermächtnisses von Charles-Louis-David Cottier, einem Verbündeten von Boys, der der noch heute aktiven Institution seinen Namen gab.
