Dieses kleine, privat geführte Museum vermittelt ein Gefühl des gewöhnlichen Lebens unter dem Kommunismus. Nachdem Deutschland 1990 wiedervereinigt wurde, konnten die meisten Ostdeutschen ihre alten Möbel, unmodischen Kleidung und veralteten Haushaltswaren nicht schnell genug ersetzen. Einige jedoch konnten es einfach nicht ertragen, ihre Erinnerungen wegzuwerfen. Dank dieser nostalgischen Typen wurde dieses Museum, das einzige im Land, das das alltägliche deutsche Leben hinter dem Eisernen Vorhang darstellt, 2006 auf der Welle des Ostalgie-Phänomens gegründet.
